Five-year Investment Performance

Investment Policy

The Delaware Community Foundation's core business is to administer charitable endowments, and its chief responsibility is to be an effective steward of these funds. Over the years, the Foundation has developed a comprehensive investment policy and the DCF has had a very solid investment track record.

The Foundation currently utilizes the services of five professional money management firms, each of which has a specific objective and is evaluated against a market index. The DCF has a benchmark index which is a composite of these standard indexes, weighted to match our investment mix. This allows us to evaluate both the absolute and relative performance of our money managers.

The Delaware Community Foundation is committed to prudent participation in growth. The current overall asset allocation is approximately 65% in domestic equities and 35% in fixed income securities. The objective is to outperform similar market indexes against which we are compared.
