Program and
Capital Grants
The Foundation's Grants Committee oversees all
grantmaking, subject to approval of the Board of Directors. The DCF
awards grants for charitable purposes to nonprofit organizations
with a 501(c) (3) designation issued by the Internal Revenue
Service. Agencies receiving DCF grants must serve the State of
Delaware and its residents without discrimination based on race,
religion, gender, age, disability, national origin or sexual
orientation.
The Capital grant applications deadline is
at the end of January each year. The DCF defines capital as
“construction, major renovation or repair of buildings and/or the
purchase of land” and also considers requests for equipment
purchases. Proposals must be submitted on a DCF application form.
Other proposal formats will not be accepted.
Applications are now available for the 2008
Capital Grants program and must be submitted by January 31, 2008.

Program Grants
currently focus on Issues facing Delaware’s Senior
Population. In a departure from our traditional grantmaking process,
the DCF is not accepting funding proposals from individual
nonprofit organizations, but is working with the Delaware Aging
Network, a statewide coalition of nonprofit organizations that
provide services to seniors. This two-year pilot project is
designed to increase
efficiency, reduce duplication of services, and assure that more
seniors receive the care they need in order to remain independent.
The Delaware Aging Network is coordinating service delivery among
agencies serving senior citizens all
three Delaware counties.
