Andy Staton & Tom Hanson Join DCF Board

The Delaware Community Foundation welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors. The new board members are:

Tom HansonThomas Hanson, a partner with the law firm Morris James LLP in Wilmington, where he is a corporate and commercial litigator. Hanson has served on the Executive Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA), has twice chaired the Delaware Minority Job Fair Committee and is a previous Vice Chair of Legal Development of the Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Section of the DSBA, which, in 2011, awarded him its Leadership Award. Hanson has demonstrated his commitment to community development and philanthropy, receiving the Wilmington Award for Community Service in 2009 and the Torchbearer Award from the DuPont Minority Counsel Network in 2014. He is also a valued member of the DCF Grants Committee. Additionally, he has served on the Executive Committee of the First State Community Loan Fund Board since 2011, as well as the Regional Advisory Board of the Salvation Army since 2008. Hanson has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation’s Definitive Guide to America’s Leading Firms and Attorneys each year from 2010 to 2014.

Andy StatonAndy Staton, a residential real estate agent and leader of the Andy Staton Group in Rehoboth Beach. Staton was voted the 2010-2011 Sussex County Realtor of the Year, and serves as secretary (formerly chairman) of the Delaware Real Estate Commission. He also serves on the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council since 2009. Staton is invested in community service, having served as an ambassador to the Beebe Medical Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Sussex Family YMCA and the Leadership Council to the CAMP Rehoboth community center. A graduate of Leadership Delaware, Andy was instrumental in establishing the Southern Delaware chapter of the DCF’s Next Generation. In 2011, Staton founded the Andy Staton Foundation Fund at the DCF to raise money for programs battling childhood obesity, which is his primary focus as a community advocate.
