New Grants Available from the DCF

Back to Archive
Delaware nonprofits are invited to apply for the Delaware Community Foundation’s Focus Grants and Specific Interest Grants.

Focus Grants

Focus Grants are available to initiatives that increase youth success and support Delaware’s growing Latino communities, two of the DCF’s three focus areas. Most focus grants will range from $10,000 to $20,000, with a maximum of $25,000.

The third focus area, increasing community equity, will be supported by a new community equity project, to be announced next week. Focus Grants are underwritten by the Delaware Forever Fund, the discretionary fund of the DCF.

The deadline for Focus Grants is March 29. Applicants will be notified of decisions in late June.

To help interested nonprofits prepare applications, the DCF will present two OPTIONAL workshops:

  • Georgetown Public Library, Meeting Room A, March 6, 3:30 p.m.
  • Wilmington Public Library, Commons Room, March 8, 9:30 a.m.

Participants must register for workshops 24 hours in advance. Participation in workshops is optional and will not influence funding decisions.

To register for the workshops and for more information, visit delcf.org/grants.

Specific Interest Grants

A very limited number of Specific Interest Grants are available. These grants are awarded from funds created at the DCF by donors for very specific purposes. An independent committee, formed of community leaders who are knowledgeable in these subject areas, selects grant recipients within the parameters established by the donors. Grant applications are being accepted for programs to support:

  • Delawareans in need of long-term health care.
  • Small grants for arts in Wilmington.
  • Fulfillment of terminally ill children’s wishes.
  • Support animals and animal welfare.

The deadline for Specific Interest Grants is March 22. Applicants will be notified of decisions in late June.
