Lossie Freeman Joins DCF Board of Directors

The Delaware Community Foundation welcomes Lossie Freeman as a new member of its Board of Directors.

As Special Assistant for Employment Initiatives to Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki, Freeman is responsible for the development of an employment infrastructure that will create better opportunities for unemployed citizens.

Freeman began her career as a global consultant at JPMorgan Investment Bank in New York, where she worked in various roles including as a global consultant in Tokyo and Seoul, a clerk on the New York Stock Exchange, and as a program manager for the global credit risk management team. She earned her master’s of public administration in economic policy management from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Afterwards she worked briefly for the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China, in the economic/political section, where she conducted research for policymakers and received special recognition from the U.S. Ambassador to China. Most recently she was vice president of global business development for Parnassus Global Agency in Washington, D.C.

Freeman is a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club and the Delaware Fund for Women. She serves on the board of Kingswood Community Center, the Workforce Development Board of Delaware, the Governor’s Commission on Volunteerism, and as a trustee at Salem Academy & College in Winston-Salem, N.C.

“Lossie brings expertise and passion for creating opportunity for people from many walks of life through workforce development and other economic development endeavors,” DCF President & CEO Stuart Comstock-Gay said. “We are fortunate to have her leadership in the city of Wilmington and now on the DCF board.”

The DCF thanks outgoing board members Nancy Karibjanian and Joan Sharp for their many years of service.
