The Caesar Rodney Rotary Foundation (CRRF), a fund at the Delaware Community Foundation, has awarded $5,000 to help support two high-quality programs focused on youth at risk in our community. The recipients of CRRF’s 2019 Grants are Urban Promise and Summer Learning Collaborative:

UrbanPromise: Equips children and young adults through Christ with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, personal growth and servant leadership. –  $2,500

SummerCollabSummer Learning Collaborative: Partners with existing community based institutions to help them optimize the role they can and must play for kids in our highest-need communities through high impact summer programming. – $2,500.

It is the mission of the CRRF to address the needs of youth and young adults at risk in the county. The mission includes educating, training, and providing direct relief to assist with physical, emotional, mental, and basic financial needs of youth living within New Castle County, Del.

CRRF was formed in 2018 as a means for the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club to accelerate the mission of educating the community and addressing the needs of youth at risk in New Castle County, Delaware. Educating the community includes providing public awareness of the need as well as encouraging volunteer opportunities to address the needs.

This year, the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club is celebrating 30 years of “Service Before Self.” The club meets Fridays at 7:30 am at the University and Whist Club, 805 N. Broom Street, Wilmington. More information about the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club can be found at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/7000.
