The Community Needs Grants Program has been temporarily postponed and will resume in early 2021.
*Applications submitted by the Sept. 14 deadline will be processed, and grants will be awarded on Sept. 25 as originally planned.
As you may have seen, $25 million in CARES Act funding is being released to support our nonprofit community. The DCF, in partnership with Philanthropy Delaware, will be coordinating the distribution of a portion of these funds, which are required to be disbursed by January 2021.
We have postponed the Community Needs Grants Program to allow nonprofits to focus COVID-related grant-seeking efforts on CARES programs, should they so choose, and will help minimize the load of applications and deadlines they will be coordinating. It will also allow the DCF to dedicate the necessary capacity and attention to administering the CARES Act programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
We are eager to resume the Community Needs Grants program in 2021, as we are sure there will still be continuing need in the community. In the meantime, please review the information about the CARES Grants Program to see if your organization is eligible. To be notified when the program is reactivated, please subscribe to our newsletter and monitor our website and social media.
