Must charitable funds established at the Delaware Community Foundation benefit only Delaware organizations?
No. DCF fundholders distribute grants in Delaware and around the world.
What is the minimum gift required to establish a fund?
The minimum is $15,000 for most types of funds and $25,000 for scholarship funds.
Are all DCF funds endowed, or may my client spend down his or her fund?
We encourage donors to endow their funds, but principal access is an option.
How do DCF costs compare with those of commercial gift funds and private foundations?
Donors usually realize substantial costs compared to operating private foundations, and our costs are competitive with commercial institutions. But the DCF is much more than just a bank. We offer your clients highly personalized service, expertise in philanthropy, knowledge to help donors make a real impact on community needs, and the opportunity to be part of our movement to make Delaware a better place for all of us to live and work.
How will my client be treated at the DCF?
The DCF is committed to excellence in all things, especially client service. We believe the key is our respect for your relationship with your client, as well as your client’s satisfaction.
