How We Can Help

For more than 20 years, the Delaware Community Foundation has worked with professional advisors in every venue to help their clients with their charitable planning. A charitable fund at the DCF provides your clients with an easy and flexible means to accomplish their charitable objectives. It’s a simple way for them to make a difference, and leave a lasting legacy in our community.

We help your clients achieve superior tax benefits

Since the IRS considers us a public charity, contributions are eligible for the highest available tax deductions. In most cases, these tax benefits outweigh using their assets to establish their own private foundation.

We make set-up and administration easy

Establishing a fund can be done in less time than it takes to open a bank account. We take care of all the administrative and grantmaking activities, eliminating the need for your clients to set up a separate institution, formulate policies, file innumerable forms and monitor the status of grant recipients. We save them precious time and money.

We take good care of their funds

The Board of Directors, volunteers and staff of the Delaware Community Foundation are dedicated to providing lasting stewardship to the charitable funds entrusted to our care. We are here to nurture these funds and administer them in a cost-effective way to guarantee that investments in our community will provide the maximum benefit to the people of Delaware.

We share your clients’ interests

We are here to help your clients become connected to the issues that are most important to them. Their charitable interests and priorities are important to us because committed, caring citizens are so important to our community’s well-being.

We care about the community and its future

We are committed to providing a lasting source of income to meet the long-term needs of the community. We will make certain that the fund your client creates at the Delaware Community Foundation today addresses the challenges of tomorrow, in addition to focusing on current needs.

We are a community-focused partner that enhances your practice

The Foundation benefits from the strongest possible relationship between you and your client, so the Foundation will never eclipse your role, but rather enhance it. We can work entirely in the background or we can attend every meeting with you. It’s your choice.

We can provide presentations and seminars at your request with the latest information on charitable giving strategies and laws. We also offer GiftLaw Pro, a 24-hour web service that provides a up-to-date information on federal charitable tax law geared for the professional advisor. And in the very near future, the DCF will launch an interactive website that will provide you with online tools to help you help your clients make well-informed decisions about their planned giving. Our work with attorneys, accountants, and insurance and financial service professionals, is advised by our 20-member Planned Giving and Professional Advisory Council.

We welcome the opportunity to work with you to find the giving vehicle that best meets your clients’ needs.
