2019 Book Circles: Our Towns
by James and Deborah Fallows
If you’d still like to do a Book Circle, contact us! We still have a few copies to give away!
Since 2013, Deborah and James Fallows have traveled to small communities in every part of the country that have faced economic shocks, political crises or other serious hardships. Each place they went, they talked with teachers, business creators, mayors, religious leaders, students, artists and architects, librarians and others involved in shaping their community’s future.
Their 100,000-mile journey brings us stories of communities that are remaking their towns and their lives. These towns are putting big ideas into action – building creative public/private partnerships, restoring downtowns, investing in innovative schools, developing vibrant open spaces and celebrating diversity.
This fall, the DCF invited Delawareans to come together in conversation to explore the stories of Delaware towns, and how we are collectively building solutions to our most pressing challenges.
This program is partially funded by a grant from Delaware Humanities, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
